Motor City Food Safety (“we,” “us”), a service of SMVE LLC, provides food safety training, ServSafe® examination proctoring, and related services in metro Detroit, Michigan. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Booking and account information. When you reserve a seat, create an account, or enroll a team, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, employer or company name, and the sessions or courses you sign up for.
Certification records. To help you and your employer track compliance, we may store certification details such as certificate type, number, issue date, and expiration date.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number never touches our servers; we retain only payment status, amounts, and Stripe reference identifiers.
Assistant conversations.If you use the on-site “Ask Motor City Food Safety” assistant or our phone assistant, the content of those conversations is processed by our AI service providers to generate responses.
Usage analytics. We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights) to understand site traffic and performance. These do not use advertising cookies and do not track you across other websites.
How we use information
We use your information to schedule and administer classes and exams, process payments and invoices, issue booking references, notify you about your sessions and certification expirations, provide customer support, and operate and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers needed to run Motor City Food Safety: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Vercel (website hosting and analytics), and our AI providers for the site and phone assistants. Where required to administer the ServSafe® examination, information is shared with the National Restaurant Association’s certification program. Each provider is bound to use your data only to provide its service. We may also disclose information when required by law.
Retention
We keep booking, payment, and certification records for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal, tax, and certification-audit obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time; we will delete information that we are not legally required to retain.
Your choices
You can access and update your information from your account page, or email us to request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our services are intended for people working in or entering the food service industry and are not directed to children under 16.
